You can update the product category view on your website so that all categories match or each category can be different. This ability will allow you to provide a customized experience per category for your customers, enhancing your website's ease of use. You can do this in the operations portal, and also directly on the website. To start, navigate to "PIM" section in the Operations Portal.
Click "Categories". In order to access and update “Categories” you will need to be set up either as an administrator or a superuser, or have the roles of: “categoryView” and “categoryEdit”.
Search for the category you would like to update by typing in the category name, code, or keyword in the "Search..." field.
Click "Show/Hide Columns" icon.
Select "Default View Layout" column to add it to the grid.
Double-click into the category's "Default View Layout" field.
Select your preferred view layout from the dropdown options of List, Grid, or Catalog.
Go to the category page on the commerce site and check that the setting has been applied. You can see that the products in this category are now shown in the "Grid" format. You can also set up the Default View Layout from here, as long as you're logged in to the operations portal.
To do this, click the "Manage Category" button.
Click the "Default View" dropdown and select your preferred view.
Click "Save" to apply the changes.
