If you will be displaying information on the commerce website in different languages, you will be adding information to the PIMPortal.
You can add or adjust multilingual information for Category Languages in two different spots in the PIM Portal: Categories and Category Languages. You will be able to add, edit, or remove information from either of these two sections.
Note: in order for Category Languages to be used, specific languages need to be indicated in the Languages section of the Kodaris platform.
Adding Multilingual Information To Existing Category Using Categories Section
Navigate to Categories section of the PIM Portal
Locate the Category you could like to add multilingual information to by using either the Search option on the Search tab or
Use the Data tab and find the Category by:
Typing in a term into the Search option
Typing a term into the top field of one column
Clicking the filter icon and typing in a term
Once you locate the category, click the Details icon in the far right column
On the following screen, select the desired language from the dropdown located in the upper right corner
Double-click into the multilingual field you would like adjust, then enter or edit the information
Click outside of the field to autosave
Adding Multilingual Information from Categories Languages Section
Navigate to "Category Languages" section of the PIM Portal
Add New Multilingual Information Manually
Locate the row with the "+" icon next to it at the bottom of the screen
Enter the required information into the row's fields, including selecting the language from the dropdown menu
Press Enter to add the row
Add or Edit Multilingual Information Using Data Grid
Locate the Category you would like to add to or edit by scrolling or typing in a specific term in the filter field at the top of each column
Double click the field you would like to add the multilingual information to, then add or edit
Click outside the field to autosave
Navigate to "Languages" section of the PIM Portal
Copy the language code you need from the list, then paste into the exported spreadsheet
Export and Import Multilingual Information

Navigate to "Category Languages" section in the PIM Portal
Use the "Show / Hide Columns" icon to select the columns you would like to export. At a minimum, you will need the following columns as these are needed to either identify the category or are one of the three multilingual fields:
Language - this indicates what language this category's information is written in; specific languages need to be indicated in the Languages section of the Kodaris platform in order for Language codes to be used
Category - the identifying field that matches all information about this specific category throughout the Kodaris Platform
Name - how the category will appear on the commerce website
Keywords - search terms to help build out SEO plus identify the category on the commerce website search functionality
Description - general information about the category; depending on your commerce template, the information in this field may or may not appear
Click on File, then select Export
Rename the file if needed in the "Save as" dialogue box
Click "Save" to export the file
Preparing the Multilingual Import Spreadsheet
In order to create or update Category Languages, a header row with "language" and "category" are required. If the header row does not match, the import will not work.
Enter the category language information you would like to import. Any about of category language information can be imported - there is no limit.
To ensure you are using the right "language" and "category" terms so the import can be successful, please refer to the Categories section of the PIM Portal and and Languages section of the Kodaris platform. You can copy/paste specific terms to your spreadsheet.
Once the sheet is complete, save it as a .CSV file and you are ready to import.
Importing Multilingual Information
Navigate to "Category Languages" section in the PIM Portal
Click on File, then select Import and choose one of the options:
Create & Update – select if you would like to create, as well as update any existing information.
Create Only – select if you are only creating new information.
Update Only – select if you would like to update existing information.
Once you have selected the import type, you will be prompted to select the .CSV file that you would like to import
The import function is quick – once you upload the selected file, the data in the file is created or updated. Please be sure that you select the correct file to import, and have your file prepared correctly.
